After having viewed and studied my freshly developed negatives and slides from last week, I am very pleased that I had the inspiration and motivation to go out once more with my camera and film to document more colors and textures of the sky, especially given the cloudless sky here the last few days.
On this evening, following a so-so eclipse of the sun below the horizon with so-so colors, I and many other observers standing atop this bluff were hoping for yet another crimson and magenta explosion in the sky. Nature did not disappoint. Within 10 minutes, a slowly evolving display of magnificent colors materialized before our eyes. It was jaw-dropping. 360 degrees of the sky were filled with vibrant colors. I was not certain how well my Velvia would handle the strong red highlights, but the transparency revealed a graceful exposure and fade of those highlights mixed with deep shadows.
Hopefully, next week's weather forecast will be favorable, and nature will create, once again, the right conditions for re-living this mood and experience. :-)
