During an early morning, winter hike through breathtaking Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego, a fog bank had rolled in as the sun arose over the mountains to the east, creating a brief pocket of light that gave way to a beautiful golden cast over the canyons. Knowing that the fog was drifting in at dawn and dusk that week, I waited three mornings for this opportunity. I was persistent and fortunate. For those precious 15 to 20 minutes, Nature greeted me with this soft, misty, and magical light.
