Ahhh . . . it is that time of the year. Over the past 2 months, the climate in Southern California has been in Spring mode with beautiful and near-perfect weather, setting the mood for all sorts of outdoors activities.

Each year right around the Spring Equinox, I make a series of visually and psychologically delightful promenades at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. The uplifting mood of the vast acres of ranunculus flowers with the ocean in full view and bustling with smiling locals and tourists admiring the views never grows old.

As I did last year, this image will be one in a series of photographs that I plan to share here that captures and celebrates the essence of this season, these flowers and other species, and Nature in general. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
