Lake Frostastaðavatn, located in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve on the doorsteps of Landmannalaugar, is a beautiful, serene, and pristine lake.
Atop a nearby volcano, I had a good couple of hours of contrasty sunshine to work with, along with strong chilly winds, which made the mood for black-and-white exposures too good to pass up. The passing storm added moodiness and drama the scene, fulfilling one of my goals for this return journey.
