These waterfalls were recently discovered in Fall 2012. In Spring 2013, I am fortunate that I was among a handful of explorers in the world to witness these magnificent falls. Mig dreymir um ísland! ("I dream of Iceland!")
Like thousands of other waterfalls in Iceland, these falls are unnamed and are located in an obscure corner of Suðurland. My guide had to obtain special permission from the land owners to bring us here. The ride was rugged, but worth it. Interestingly, my guide discovered these falls by air during a flight over the region. He is a skilled pilot, outdoorsman, photographer, íslendingur, and now a good friend.
